This is America

DAY 8 of the Flashnano Challenge. Flashnano is a challenge that involves writing 30 stories in 30 days throughout the month of November. A new writing prompt every day. As a reminder, at this stage I don’t edit these it’s simply raw, off the top of my head writing. Later, I’ll go through any that have potential and edit them. Thanks for reading.

FLASHNANO 2018 – 30 Stories in 30 Days

PROMPT 8: Write a story that includes the police

** Another mass shooting today. This time in Thousand Oaks, CA about 40 miles from where I currently live. Thousand Oaks is one of the safest communities in the United States – until it wasn’t. Rest in peace to those who lost their lives doing nothing more than listening to music, hanging out with friends and dancing. Things we’ve all done. To their families and friends may your memories bring you comfort and peace. To Sgt. Ron Helus you died a hero. As a country we’re heartbroken, again. 💔
