Gardenias

Mist dancing on her chilled skin

she walks through the wooded gate

in her shaking hand

a perfect Gardenia

tucking it into her hair

Senses still alive

Out of nowhere he appears, “You’re here.”

“I am.”

Leaning close to smell the sweet flower

he smiles

Hand in hand they walk

into the mist

Together.

🎶 Everybody wants a lover

Nobody wants to uncover

what may lay deep beneath a sometimes painful past

wanna go without a care

pull Gardenias from her hair…🎶

  4. Simply beautiful. I loved the imagery you built here! Its so difficult to make someone visualize a scene using only written words. You are really an incredible writer, Jody! 🙂
