FlashNano Day 18: Write a story that uses the 2nd person point of view (you)
You glance in the rearview mirror and carefully adjust a stray wisp of hair that has fallen over your forehead. Perfection, in yourself and others, is that really too much to ask for? With a deep breath, you get out of your car taking in the scene. Police officers are placing yellow crime scene tape in a large perimeter around an open patch in the woods. The media, vultures as you liked to call them, are setting up their equipment as close to the action as they can get. If it bleeds, it leads.
You can see the body from your perch outside the line. The thick, leather belt tied around her neck, naked body posed in prayer. “Sinner” carved into her chest with a sharp blade just like the others.
Your heartbeat quickens and you take another deep breath. You feel powerful knowing what you did and the role you will now be playing. This was the fun part, maybe your favorite part. Lifting the tape you walk with purpose towards the scene.
“Got anything yet?” You ask.
“No, Captain, this guy’s good.” The officer says.
Whoa… very dark. I like. 🙂
