FlashNano Day 23: Write a story while listening to Prokofiev’s “Dance of the Knights” (from his ballet Romeo and Juliet)
They gathered from near and far, this cannot go on, this enemy must fall. They drove, they walked, they picked up the feeble and weak. They gathered. Drawn out of their complacency by the words of a heinous, reckless man. We are a nation at a crossroad and we cannot take the road this bloviating preacher of hate – this carnival barker, stands on. Do. Not. Follow!
“Step right up! We’ve got all the hate and bigotry you could ever ask for! Fear the Muslims! Muslims – show us your numbered wrists! Fear the Blacks! Blacks – show us your numbered wrists! Fear the Mexicans! Mexicans – show us your numbered wrists….”
First they came for the Muslims and I did nothing, for I am not a Muslim…
Hate begets hate. Fear begets fear. This man he wants to rule the land, in turn the world. The threat is real, his followers are growing. We must not let this happen.
Gather… gather and stop this… STOP IT RIGHT NOW! Send him back to his gaudy golden palaces and reality shows. He cannot rule this land! He is NOT worthy.
Hate and bigotry can’t win. For the love of God, sane people — soon you will be asked to gather. Be there! Be heard!
Fear CAN’T win!
Bigotry CAN’T win!
HATE CAN’T WIN!
When you are called – gather.
When the time is here and we must gather…GATHER. You must be there.
This preacher of fear and hate is not the answer.
