FlashNano Day 10: Write a story involving an operation
“Forceps… Nurse, forceps! Pay attention this is not a game!”
“I’m sorry, Doctor. I thought I heard a buzzer.”
“A buzzer? In the operating room?”
“Yes, but I must be mistaken… although, I thought I heard it again.”
“The patient moved a bit, this is a tricky surgery. But, I think I’ve just about got it…BUZZ… Oh crap!”
“I DID hear a buzzer… my turn, Doctor! Let me try!”
“NO! It’s still my turn, I get three tries and that was only my second!”
“Was NOT, you tried three times!”
Grabbing the forceps, and with a sure hand, the nurse reaches inside the patient. A mere moment later she lets out a gleeful shriek, “HA!! FUNNY BONE!! Got It! I win!! Nurses Rule, Doctors Drool!”
“MOM!!!! Becky cheated!!”
AFTERWORD by the Author: This may be the single worse thing I’ve ever written. I couldn’t decide which was worse – skip this day or write crap… I opted to write crap. 30 stories in 30 days – crap happens.

Don’t let it get you down…I’ve written enough crap to fill a barnyard, and then some. You made the right decision by writing. And it wasn’t as bad as you think. Some days you’re the doctor, and sometimes… BUZZ. 🙂

Think of it as the fertilizer that helps the great stuff grow. That’s why the first rule is, “Write every day, even when you don’t feel like it.” Even if it’s just a paragraph or two. It really is amazing how much it hones your writing skills and builds confidence. Bravo to you for doing just that. 🙂

I think I write so much “fertilizer” I should sell it to writers to help their gardens grow! Shouldn’t hoard it all for myself! 😉 Seriously, thanks for the pep-talk. My life is more than a little chaotic right now and it’s very appreciated.

Keep writing, Jodi. I’ve been reading where people have thought certain posts they’ve wrote were simply awful. Yet, those were the posts that got the most views! 😀
