Words ~ A Stream of Consciousness

Words – I devour them greedily off the page. I always have.

Some I take in quickly, voraciously (what a splendid word!). Because I simply can not wait for them to live inside me.

Others I read slowly – out loud… tasting them in my mouth. Words have flavors. If you didn’t know this, I’m sorry. Maybe they don’t for everyone, perhaps I’m just lucky.

Words paint pictures – masterpieces even, if the right brush is used. That brush can be elusive though. But, if you’ve held it for even one second… you’ll spend a lifetime trying to reclaim it.

Words can transport you to any place they create. Like a flying carpet through time and space. Dropping you off in far away lands where you can get lost for awhile. Who doesn’t want to get lost for awhile?

“Once upon a time in a land far, far away….” Don’t you want to go there, right this second, to see what happens next? I do.

Words – I devour them greedily off the page. I always have.
